Welcome!

We are excited to invite all alumni of the Community College Initiative Program (CCI) to participate in the third virtual CCI alumni conference, CCI LIVE: Leadership in Action on Saturday, June 10, 2017! The conference is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and organized by the Northwest Community College Initiative (NWCCI) program. The event will take place from 8:00am – 12:00pm Pacific Time (Seattle time).

Whether it’s been nine years or two weeks since you graduated from the CCI Program, you are a member of a global cohort of leaders working to create positive change around the globe. We are excited to create this opportunity to bring you together in a virtual space to explore how to leverage the leadership skills you developed on the CCI Program to make positive differences in your communities.

This event will take place 100% online, and will occur live, so all registered participants can listen to presentations and can interact with each other and with the guest presenters via moderated forums and discussion boards. (If you cannot attend the event live, all of the sessions will be recorded so you can listen to them by logging into the conference site later.) All sessions will be close captioned.

The virtual conference schedule will include:

  • CCI Making a Difference: a panel of seven of your CCI colleagues discussing how they are contributing to improving life in their communities
  • A keynote presentation entitled “Global Brain Leadership Skills” led by Greg Tuke a Fulbright Fellow and University of Washington-Bothell instructor
  • Sessions on topics including: global leadership, media literacy, peace building, storytelling, and personal branding
  • Speakers including: entrepreneurs from the private sector, NGO and government leaders, academic researchers, members of the CCI team and CCI alumni

Learning is a lifelong process and we are proud to participate in your ongoing development. We hope you will join us and reconnect with old friends and make new connections with other CCI Program alumni.

The Community College Initiative Program (CCI) is an international exchange program sponsored by the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Special thanks to the Community College Consortium for its assistance with this conference.
